Hampton Inn & Suites East Lansing/okemos

I've been staying here 4 nights per week for 7 months out of the last year. The rooms are always clean, linens fresh, and food is decent. Illianna (I think that's her name) at the front desk has always helped me out and is always very kind. I travel with my service dog and they are always accommodating by keeping us close to the door. Thank you all from front desk to housekeeping to maintenance. I appreciate you and look forward to staying here again.

This is definitely a "blended" review. On the plus side, the hotel is just off the interstate and close to retail and restaurants. The property is clean and quiet, and they have a great gym and indoor pool. Having said all of this, my vehicle was vandalized the second night I was there. The passenger window was smashed in, and the entire flat screen panel was ripped out from the dash. The vehicle was parked under a street light and directly opposite a security camera. In 15 years of travel around the US and the world, I have never had this happen. I can't overlook it. The hotel should invest in on-site security or better monitoring. Personally, I would not feel comfortable staying here again.

Great place for a stay! My only beef is the other Lansing location. We were all in town for a wedding, and wanted to stay in the same Hampton. With the descriptions so similar, several people ended up at the East Lansing location rather than the Okemos location. Would love to see the Hampton Inns differentiate these 2 placees more. Regardless, everything was fine including the breakfast the following morning.

Check your duvets and sheets throughly and the bottom of showers duvets are never changed and same for the sheets breakfast is only fresh when amiee makes it other than that you will get sick. Front desk older lady that looks like Mrs.Clause is VERY racist and i think shes needs to retire she always messes up reservations and easily gets overwhelmed she should be a greeter at walmart hotel is not for you. Karen is literally a Karen sadly that is the AGM. She is very disrespectful and has made a couple racial comments towards me and my background. The tiny little girl at front desk needs more training she puts a on a terrible work persona friendly housekeepers but pay attention i highly recommend not using the ice machines MOLD inside, Also check the pool are, Eco lab is always there testing the levels and its been closed down a few times. Walls inside of rooms need to be scrubbed. Elevator was not serviced if i was hearing correctly from the employees it was due to the owner not paying the bill. Also check out the hallway ceiling either on 2nd or 3rd floor near the elevator by the higher numbers LAWSUIT waiting to happen. Also WHY IS IT DAMN NEAR EVERY TOILET HAS ISSUES? nobody wants to have a toilet plunger inside of a trash bag in their room. The Gm is worthless if you ask me they are all out of wack. their is a lot of shady unprofessional behavior going on behind them room walls.

Upon first entering the Hotel Room we were greeted with an odd smell. After a short investigation we found that someone had taken a rather large bowel movement in the toilet and hadn't flushed. This calls into question the cleanliness of the room if house keeping wasn't even thorough enough to flush the toilet while cleaning how could we be certain that anything else was clean. Our uncertainty continued as we got in the shower the next morning to find that the tub is being eaten away by rust. This was our experience on the 1st night. The next day while we were sleeping house keeping knocked on the door and we alerted them that we were in the room and not dressed. They said okay and moved onto the next room. Shortly after they came back and knocked again. We again mentioned we were in the room and in bed, and they proceeded to come into the room anyways, again an embarrassing situation. However both of these instances pale in comparison to the most egregious part part. When I initially called to book my reservation I mentioned I was with a special convention with Negotiated prices. *I* myself mentioned it may have been to late to take advantage of the rate, however the employee requested to put me on hold, when coming back she told me that she had gotten manager approval to still honor the $90 night rate. Exciting news for my family, and rather than shopping around to the several other hotels we had rates with, we decided to stay here. After checkout however I see that Rahter than the $90, we were charged $161 for the 1st night (which doesnt even match the price on our stay-folio) and $366 for the second night, Assuming it was a mistake I called the hotel to get it sorted out and was told by an Iiana that she was the manager and she apologized that her employee lied to me, but there was nothing that she would do for me. She said that was something her employee SHOULD HAVE mentioned (But didnt). She said even if she was able to verify that I was lied to, she would not help me so she wasnt going to look into it. She told me theres no way to alter my rate after the fact, and only Hilton HQ could possibly help me, but it wouldnt matter because they were gonna take her side no matter what the case is. I called Hilton HQ and let them know what she said, and they informed me that SHE was the only one who would be able to alter my rate, and if I wanted any solution I needed to figure it out with the hotel.
